Mozy this last week opened up their new file synchronization software up to a public beta. The service allows users of the Mozy backup service an extra feature to be able to sync files between up to 5 computers. Currently the feature is free to all Mozy backup users so if you a free 2GB account to try out the new feature you can with a free Mozy account.

The service also allows users to access their Stash files via the Mozy mobile app. It also offers mobile users the ability to automatically upload photos and video from their mobiles to their Stash storage and then sync those new files to their computers.

The best part about the new Mozy Stash offering is perhaps how cheap the storage is compared to other file sync services like Dropbox. Mozy Stash shares storage with your main Mozy account so you can get a 50GB account for only $5.99/month. Compare that with Dropbox at $9.99/month for many of the same features and Mozy should have a winning new service.

At the very least you should check the service out if you have a Windows or Mac computer. Another 2GB of free storage is always nice.

In the end you need to decided if the extras that the Livedrive reseller is offering is worth not having a direct account with Livedrive. If the reseller goes under what happens to your data is a good question to ask.
